The special school was established in 2002 and registered with the Department of Social Justice in 2003. It works primarily with children from lower-income families and weaker sections of society in and around Narmadapuram.

Teaching is delivered by a regular staff team that includes special educators, a music teacher, a drawing teacher and a vocal therapist, supported by administrative and transport staff.

The school has a sanctioned intake of 75 learners (50 day scholars and 25 residential). Most learners live nearby and travel each day in a modified school van operated by the organisation.
